With any luck, they'll be discovering new and powerful ways to put their heads together before they end up in harm's way instead of after.There’s something looming ahead in the distance for the denizens of Krakoa, and it’s not just the Hellfire Gala - the Shadow King’s intentions hang over everything and remain unrevealed. This moment probably won't go down as an important day in mutant history, but it has surely left an impression on Marvel's next generation of mutants. This display of power synergy is a perfect example of what mutants are able to do when they come together, especially in ways that aren't necessarily expected. It truly is the ultimate mutant war machine, but it still isn't enough to win the exercise.
After extending himself as far as he needs to go, Warlock has entirely encapsulated Warpath in a new, biomechanical suit of sentient power armor. When Warpath reaches out to Warlock, the latter ribbons his way across Warpath's body, and for a moment what's happening resembles a symbiote transformation. As incredible as that might be, it's Warpath and Warlock who really steal the show. More than just a classic Fastball Special, Magik and Moonstar put their powers together to great effect, Magik's teleportation disks lending Moonstar's mirage a range that they would never have alone. RELATED: X-Men: Uncanny Avengers Revealed How Cruel Krakoa COULD Have Been Wolfsbane tells the students that they want to focus on synergizing with their fellow mutants, and the instructors are more than happen to show them exactly what that means. The two groups run, jump, and toss each other through the air until a concession is made, and their mentors are all (for the most part) proud of how they're developing. Two teams of young mutants race through the forest, chasing and evading one another in an incredible sparring match. Once Wolfsbane and Warpath have arrived, the gang is all ready to take on another first day as teachers.
Moonstar and Karma discuss the latter's recent spate of nightmares while Magik gets herself ready for the day, with Warlock deciding to tag along now that Cypher has marital concerns to attend to. To combat this, several older mutants have been tasked with mentoring and guiding the next generation, a big part of which is helping them to understand and refine their incredible gifts. Some of the younger mutants of Krakoa, particularly those living in the Akademos habitat, have been suffering from a lack of structure and an abundance of boredom and depression.
